Field service teammember license

Hi all,

A customer would like to start using Field service.

They have about 40 engineers in field who would like to use Field Service to write the hours they work for customers.

Is this only possible with the customer engagement plan or the Dynamics 365 for fieldservice license and not possible with the teammember?

The price difference between the teammember and the other licenses is huge! And those users only need to be able to write their hours so if we have to purchase for all these users the expensive licenses the customer isn't going to start using Dynamics 365.

We would like to know if there is a possibility to write their hours with the Team member license.

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Dirk-Jan Forma

    Dirk -

Are these internal employees or partner field engineers?  If they are partners you could use the partner portal to do this.  However, if you are going to use field service (work orders, etc), you need a field service license.

These are internal employees indeed, it's a shame you need such an expensive license to write hours..

It would be nice to create a basic field service license for those kind of needs..

If all you're doing is recording hours, then there are other things you can do to configure such a solution.  However, you wouldn't get the true offline experience that you would with the field service mobile app.  You could write a PowerApp to record time and send it back to a Case as a custom entity.

okay, yes that's also a possibility..

    Thanks for the support!

Always glad to help.  If that works, could you mark that response as verified.  If you need more suggestions let me know.  You could even do things with a Flow to email and send response with hours back to D365, but the PowerApp is cleaner.
