Has anyone been able to develop a way to enable barcode scanning (using a phone/tablet camera) inside the native search box?

    As far as I know, this cannot be done directly; you could add a field to the header to achieve the same result, but you cannot do this directly.

    Hello,
    The native search box itself cannot be extended with the Business Central barcode scanner. Barcode scanning is supported only on page fields marked with ExtendedDatatype = Barcode, or through a custom page action that invokes the camera scanner from AL. The practical solution is to add a dedicated barcode search field/action to the page, scan the value there, and then apply it as a page filter. This works in the Business Central mobile app on supported iOS and Android devices, but not directly inside the standard list search control.
