Where do I select the "Group" planned orders option? On which page? On the "Planned Orders" page or the "Planning Worksheets" page.

    Hi,

You're asking where to find the "Group" planned orders option whether it's on the Planned Orders page or the Planning Worksheets page. Based on how BC handles consolidation, the grouping feature is available directly on the Planned Orders list page.

This option allows you to consolidate multiple planned orders into one, which is especially useful when managing production demand across similar items or time buckets.

    Here’s how to access it:

    1. Go to the Planned Orders page

    • Use the search bar to find Planned Production Orders
    • Open the list view and look for the Group action in the ribbon or context menu
    • This will allow you to merge selected planned orders into a single consolidated order

    2. Planning Worksheets page does not offer direct grouping

    • The Planning Worksheets are used for calculating and reviewing planning suggestions
    • While you can modify quantities and dates, there’s no built-in “Group” function like on the Planned Orders page

Here’s a helpful link showing how to configure and use the Planned Orders page for grouping and consolidation:

    Hello,

The Group planned orders option mentioned by M. Westwood applies to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O), not Business Central.

In Business Central, there is no explicit Group button to combine multiple demands into one production order. Instead, grouping is handled automatically in the Planning Worksheet based on item planning parameters. To consolidate multiple sales orders into one production order, ensure the item’s Reordering Policy is set to Lot-for-Lot, and that demand dates are within the same planning horizon.

When you run the Planning Worksheet and refresh the planning lines, Business Central will automatically combine those demands into a single planned or firm planned production order, as long as the conditions match.

Therefore, the correct page for this functionality in Business Central is the Planning Worksheet.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni
