Balance Sheet in Power Query

Posted on by 40
Hello,

We're trying to get a Balance Sheet into Excel by pulling all GL Entries from an OData feed. It used to work well, but lately (with increased data and more transactions), it now isn't able to complete the query without timing out. Because there are so many lines of data, it makes sense that we would encounter this. However, I'm wondering if there's a way better way to pull Balance Sheet data into Excel via Power Query without having to pull all the GL Entries (which slows things down and now doesn't even work). If there were a way to group/sum by month before bringing the data into Power Query, that would be awesome. Unfortunately, I only know how to do this once the data is in Power Query. Is there another way to accomplish this?

Thanks,

Jared

    Balance Sheet in Power Query
Hi, you can consider making a small customization.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Using the Date Method to retrieve only the Day, Month, and Year Data in Queries [Group by Year-month]

Or add some filters when getting values.
Using filter expressions in OData URIs

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.
