Has anyone encountered any issues with users that don't have GP installed on their workstations but they are trying to access GP Excel Reports and getting "SQL Server doesn't exist or Access is Denied" error message?

Those reports will rely on your DSN. Have you setup a DSN that will allow then to connect to SQL? Make sure a firewall is not in your way.

Also Excel Reports rely on AD Authentication of the logged in user against the SQL database. Does the AD account (or group that this user is a member of) have the appropriate permissions setup on the SQL instance?

    Hello Jackson,

As mentioned here, Excel Reports and SQL SRS Reports, deployed from Dynamics GP, rely on permissions from the user's Windows AD account, not their GP login.

Along with the user's Windows account needing access to the site or folder that the reports are deployed into and the report files themselves, the users need to be assigned to RPT_ database roles under the DYNAMICS/system database and any company databases depending on which reports the user needs to access.

All users accessing these Excel (or SQL SRS) reports need to be assigned the RPT_AllUsers or RPT_AllGroups role under the DYNAMICS/system database as well, or they won't be able to access these reports.

If you want users to be able to access all reports, you can assign them the RPT_PowerUser role under the DYNAMICS/system and company databases.

    Thank you,
