Credentials not being saved

(0) ShareShare

Our CFO has metrics setup on his home screen; every time he logs in, it asks him for his AD credentials.  Every time, he enters them and hits the box to save the credentials.  The problem is, the credentials never save.  I've removed everything from the Windows Credentials mananger and tried again, but no dice.

Has anyone seen this before?

Look at the GP home page. You can start by turning everything off and then turn them on one by one until you find the offending application. You need to identify which one is asking for credentials.

@Richard, what exactly do you want me to turn off?

@Tim, no one else has this problem (if I configure mine the same way, I'm not prompted for credentials everytime)  I'll check the IE setting

Does he get challenged for Credentials if he navigates to the Report Server and tries to run a report?

Check the settings for the Data Sources in SSRS.  Are they set for Windows Authentication?

Assuming Internet Explorer is the default browser on the box running Dynamics GP.

Launch IE, (In IE9) go Tools >> Internet Options >> Advanced

Scroll down in the Security section and make sure Enable Integrated Windows Authentication is checked.

Sounds like something other than GP is asking for the credentials. Can you turn off item by item until you find what is asking for the credentials? Once you know what is asking for them you should be able to resolve this issue.

    Anyone?

  • Re: Credentials not being saved

These are the canned reports that GP offers; nothing new.  Are we able to store credentials in there?

Are the metrics generated using SSRS?   That application has the ability to store login credentials in the report.

BTW, we have a book called Creating Reports in SSRS that could be helpful.
