License plate receiving and generation target license plate automatically along with labels while transfer order receiving in another warehouse

Hi Experts,

I have a business scenario where we have a new warehouse and we are in process to transfer inventory from old warehouse to new warehouse using transfer orders.

I am facing some challenges while receiving the items in another warehouse. We use manual packing in the shipping warehouse and ship containers using load.

Now as the containers (License plate) reach the receiving warehouse we use license plate receiving and put away to put them to final locations but while doing so the target license plate is not generated automatically and needs a scan or manual input which is killing time like anything.

As I have seen in another receiving process for inbound the target license plate is generated automatically and can be controlled from the mobile device menu item.

Is it that while receiving a license plate from another warehouse AX does not support automatic target license plate creation as I want it to happen and to generate the labels after the pick.

After lots of trial it seems to me that there is not way or a work around to get the requirement to be fulfilled.

To conclude as you receive a license plate from shipping warehouse on the receiving warehouse and you receive the same using license plate receiving the target license plate is not generated automatically. How do business will move 100 of items in one license plate received from shipping warehouse to respective locations when system expects workers to key in target license plate.

We do not use prelabelled containers which can be used as license plate. I know this is one way to achieve the objective but we dont want to move like this.

Am I missing something. It will be nice to hear from experts across.

    Hi Crispin,

The container packed in the shipping warehouse is now the License plate for the receiving warehouse.

The issue is that you can use the same license plate received from the shipping warehouse as the target license plate but you have scan it every time  for all the items which is very time consuming.

Also if you have 110 items in one containers received you can put them all in one location only as the same license plate cannot be used for different locations.

    Consider this

We receive LP-01 from shipping warehouse

    it has

    Item 01 - 5 pcs

    Item 02 - 5 Pcs

Now as you go to put these items in receiving location AX does not generate the target license plate automatically and if you use the same LP which is LP-01 then you have to scan it for both the items while putting.

Imagine doing this for a container with 110 items. Also if you put item 01 in LOC01 and item 02 in LOC 02 then you cannot use the LP01 for both the items as it can be at one location only.

And we do not use labelled containers.

    Hi,

For now we are using "Group put away" option to fully move the license plate to one location to make sure we dont have to input target license plate while putting.

It seems its not supported for license plate receiving as far as I have gone and analyzed.

I am thinking the reason for the same and once that is understood I can think to fix this if needed as of now "group put away" saves us and later if needed we do movement by template if there is space constraint in one location.

Although its just a work around.
