im needing to track non inventory items with specific cost, could i set up the item like and inventory item but change account numbers so in hits the right account, and still be able to track by a serial number?

    Hello Raymond,

    By design an item must be a sales inventory item to be serial tracked. You can change the accounts but the item would have to be set up as sales inventory item which may not work for what you want to do if you are not wanting the item to show up on reporting.

    You could do that Raymond but the quantity and value of the items would be included in your stock status reports.

    What kind of items are you tracking?  Could you use the Fixed Assets module instead?  You could set up a special Class for the items and set them to 'No Depreciation' so they would not depreciate.
