Hi Everyone,

Can anyone explain the purpose of Sub-BOM in BOM lines with a proper example. Please don't quote any MSDN links as I went through them. As they were not helping me, I had to come here.

Hi Pranav,

It might not be the best example, but it would give you an idea.

Suppose you are a car manufacturer, then you need to assemble a car with reusable components. E.g. the engine and suspension might be used in other type of cars as well. Apart if the engine or suspension is used in this car only or shared, if you have a sub-BOM, there will be a separate production order created for the engine, suspension, etc.
