Hi Gurus,

Actually i'm a Dynamics AX beginner, and i'm planning to take the Dynamics AX 2012 certificate exam first, but i'm a little bit confused by those modules classified by Microsoft. i list them as below:

1. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Trade and Logistics
2. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Financials
3. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Process Manufacturing Production and Logistics
4. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Lean Manufacturing
5. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Public Sector
6. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Service Management

From the business process point of view, the project scope will involve.

1. Financials

2. Purchase

3. Sales

4. Manufacturing (especially need MRP)

in order to satisfy above (4 points) business requirement, which modules i have to finish? many thanks for you suggestions.

William

    Hi William,

There are multiple trainings and certifications possible. Here is a list of the trainings available:

    www.microsoft.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-training.aspx

You can also browse the list of exams to see the requirements and needed preparation. You can click an exam and then the preparation options to see which training materials will cover the exam topics.

    And in addition:

Finance should be clear in my opinion.

Sales and Purchase is covered in Trade and Logistics

For Standard manufacturing there is no Exam.

These training materials are related to this topic:

Discrete Manufacturing Basics in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 - 80314

Discrete Manufacturing Advanced in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 - 80315

Master Planning in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 - 80423

I would suggest generally you should go for Trade and logistics Certification first

then Process manufacturing or Lean manufacturing certification depending on your project implementation

    and then Financial Management Certification

This order can be different too if you have to primarly look after Finance Module

then first you should go for Financial Management certification then Trade & logistics then Manufacturing one

If you have to look after Manufacturing part then

first Manufacturing certification then T&L and then Financial Management.

Please update if this helps you.
