Generic SQL Error When Creating Unit Group

Hello, 

I have set up a trial account for online with Dynamics 365 v. 1612 (9.0.1.621)(DB 9.0.1.621) online. 

When I go to create a Unit Group from Settings > Product Catalog > Unit Groups, it spins for a bit, then I get a SQL errror - the error in the log file is just "Generic SQL Error", which doesn't tell me much. 


I've tried delete all duplicate detection rules and turning off duplicate detection in the duplicate detection settings, as well as publishing my customizations following that and am still running into this error. 

I **am** able to create other records like contacts, accounts, etc. Is there a limit to how many unit groups are allowed? Is this because it is a trial instance?

    Hi,

    There is no limit to how many unit groups are allowed the only limitation is the storage that CRM online provided. Just wait for a while or perhaps a day, and try again, Online Server might be busy because of multiple reasons. Wait for sometime and try again it should resolve automatically.

    Hi,

    This is general message and its not for any limitation , its happening because of some internal process is running in the server related to those table  in another transaction. So try again after some times , hopefully it should work.

    Is this normal online behavior? I can create other records just fine, and this issue has been ongoing since yesterday - the fact that I can't even create one record for days on end does not bode well for MS's cloud service.

    Hi,

    No its not a normal behavior ,you don't even know when and how this icoming. There are  many situation dynamics crm gives same error for example importing solution , export excel. This issue is  also coming in onpremise environment as well, there is an advantage being onpremise to restart the server.

    But for online you have to wait and if it's does not resolved after 1 day you may raise ticket  to Microsoft.
