Using Remote Assist to connect between two organizations

I have been using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Remote Assist as part of my research work. We are having trouble setting up calls between my organization ( a university ) and the funding agency ( a govt. agency) as both our IT departments will not allow external contacts to be added. One possible solution we wanted to explore was setting up an email address outside the domains of our organization. This is proving difficult as Remote Assist requires work or school account. Is it possible to set up an email account for a domain our lab owns and then set up a Microsoft Azure directory for this account to get a license?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Archana,

are you aware about the advanced deployment scenarios on Remote Assist & did you consider any of these?

Your requirement sounds to me like the scenario:

Vendors and contractors use Dynamics 365 Remote Assist

    - Internal account: An Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) account that is created inside your tenant for internal users.

    - Service account: An Azure AD account that is created inside your tenant for users who are not currently part of your tenant.

"Companies frequently want to leverage non-company employees such as vendors or contractors to perform specific service tasks. In this case, companies still handle all license configuration, but want to enable their vendors or contractors to seamlessly use Dynamics 365 Remote Assist to collaborate with them."

You can find more details here: docs.microsoft.com/.../vendor-use-ra

On that same location, there are additional advanced deployment scenarios you might be interested in.

I think the best thing to do in these instances is to create a meeting from your Remote Assist/Teams account in your own organisation and invite the external parties to join. This should enable them to join as a guest inside your meeting and they don't even need a Teams license at all. Of course a lot of this depends on organisation settings but most organisations should allow guests inside your meetings.
