We are an ISV that would like to adjust the posted cost of our transactions AFTER they have been posted to GP.
This happens when a user posts a FG transaction prior to completing a production batch and at the end of the batch need to change the cost of the previously posted transaction.
We like the functionality of Adjust Cost but we can not send the user to the specific screen. We would like to call the utility much like we call the GP inventory transaction post using continum.
It is ok to assume GP will be open and we would call a Dynamics routine.

The tax agency in my country (Peru) requires averaging method and also by policies of our curstomer works on this method.
it sounds like you're in essence employing a sort of standard cost that is updated monthly. Is that correct? If so, have you ever considered using Standard Cost (FIFO or LIFO Periodic) as your valuation method?
Hi Frank, thanks for replying.
The problem is that the cost of the items you have at the end of each month and this cost should be the same for all operations of that month.
This cost is obtained from another poultry costing system, for this reason I run this as a routine month-end, which is delayed these four months and must run to date and month by month onwards.
Andre, why do you have to perform so many cost adjustments? What is driving this requirement?
Hi, if i use the cost adjusment screen the process take a long period to perform changes. I use average perpetual valuation and i have a 120,000 transactions to adjust per month.
I have to perform this to 4 months and for the first month I have estimated that it will take 20 days to process.
Any suggestions.
It will not be an easy task due to the number of tables affected by this, you will need to modify POP30300, IV10200, IV30300, IV10201, SOP3030, GL20000, GL10110, IV00101 and many other tables that might be indirectly affected by any cost adjustment.
I been in the same situation before with a manufacturing customer and had to manage this by developing a utility that reads cost changes from Excel and perform mass cost adjustment using Continuum API that uses the same cost adjustment screen to perform changes, take a look into my blog post below:
