Cannot import unmanaged solution

Hi,

I am trying to import an unmanaged solution, which has been translated to German (1031)

This language has been enabled in the target Org.

I get the error message:

Entity

Opportunity

Potential revenue-generating event, or sale to an account, which needs to be tracked through a sales process to completion.

Failure

0x8004700C

Attribute Display Name description is null or empty

The translation for the entity itself:

HI

Please explain in detail if you have made any changes to attributes of entity you required.

First from an undamaged solution please do note that, you can revert back your changes and second error is about problem with display name. You have look closer to attributes of entity in the organization in which you are importing the solution from another org.

Hi Adnan,

actually I dont know where the problem is. My current org where I exported the unmanaged solution is working correctly. I just cant import this solution as unmanaged to another org.

You could try and check the customizations xml manually to see if there's some field or description missing a translation tag. There might be something that CRM still expects but doesn't show up in translations.

Easiest way to check would probably be to create a new unmanaged solution in your current org, add the opportunity entity alone to that solution. Save and export, unzip and open the customizations.xml in a text editor. Start looking for entries with the original lcid 1033 and check if there's some place missing a 1031 label (cross check with the translations you have already done).

If you change something in the customizations.xml file, just re-add it to your solution zip and import it back to your source org. Then try another export and import to your target org.

Hi,

I have found the problem.

As mentioned in this article: blogs.msdn.com/.../invalid-argument-error-reported-while-importing-a-customization.aspx

I found out 2 field where the descriptions for both languages are empty.

I would say, this is a bug
