We're in wholesale and retail and still do a lot of catalogue promotions to mailbox drops. We also do online promotions. We also have promotional special orders: forward/pre-committed orders where stores order 4-6 months in advance for fabricated items to secure a low price. Allocations where we push a quantity to the stores (for typical seasonal items e.g. outdoor furniture in spring) and
The process is mainly schedule driven. Marketing setup campaigns linked to promotions twice a year.
Then we setup:
1. The promotions event
2. The different catalogues a promo will go into
3. The products allocated to catalogue pages
Once we've got our promo setup we add participating stores.
Once the stores finalize their orders a file is produced that goes off to the system that makes the catalogue content.
And then there's rules in the ordering systems that apply different pricing rules.
Question is what is the equivalent functionality in D365 F&O?
And is there any partner add-on software package working well on or with D365F&O that's worth looking at as it has more features?
