After modification get the previous value of a field of a DataSource in a DataSet

My requirement is to send an email to a person to inform him/her that a field on the EP web control is changed. I need to mention the previous value and the current value of that field. Can someone help me how to get previous value of a field in its modified method?

Hi Numan.

You can use standard Dynamics AX alerts to do exactly this. technet.microsoft.com/.../aa834468.aspx

It can show before and after values as well as emailing users the notification. E.G. When the status of a sales order changes

You probably should use alerts like suggested by Jonathan, but if you ever really need to get the old value on modified() use myDataSource.orig().myField value.
