SSRS - Unable to connect to data source

Today I tried to edit and existing SSRS report and received this error when trying to update the dataset.

The data source has always worked in the past. There have been no changes to CRM or to the credentials used. The org I'm connecting to is called 'frpdev', so the connection string in the data source is https://disco.crm4.dynamics.com;frpdev

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks.

In the end I uninstalled the Report authoring Extensions and uninstalled Visual Studio. After re-installing both, the problem vanished!

Weird, annoying, but fixed. Thanks for your help

That last error tends to show up when you are trying to use 365 authoring extensions with VS 2012. Not sure if I have ever seen a solution for VS 2012, but it does work with VS 2015 (but, if you go that route, you`ll probably need to reinstall the extensions once you have installed VS 2015 + data tools)

On the other hand, if you were using an earlier version of the reporting extensions before, that might be the reason why authentication stopped working.

Check this link, it talks about the same error.Basically there is a KB to do a registry cleanup before reinstalling.

Ok I did that. Uninstalled it and re-installed the Dynamics 365 Report Authoring Extension.

Now I'm receiving a different error message, when trying to update the data set:

    05641.Capture.PNG

"The selected data extension MSCRMFETCH is not installed or cannot be loaded"....

    Thoughts?

You may want to try reinstalling Report authoring extension.

    I did.

The strange thing is that the connection URL I'm using has always worked in the past:

    https://disco.crm4.dynamics.com;frpdev

As nothing has changed in terms of CRM or the credentials (I've tried other creds and other unique org names the same problem happens), I feel it might be something to do with Visual Studio? I'm using VS 2010.

Also the reports still run fine in CRM directly.

Did you go to Settings > Customisations > Developer Resources

    Then use the Unique Name?

You need to put in the orgname where your disco is.
