SSRS error

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

While opening any SSRS (SQL 2012 we are using) report in MS Dynamics Ax 2012 R2 we are getting the following error -

"Parameter _reportName cannot be null or empty.

The AssetBasisRdlContract.getAttributes() reflection API could not create and return the SrsReportNameAttribute object. Please check the parameters."

Please note, getting the same error while opening through reporting manager.

Please help us out to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Ensure yourself that everything has been compiled and deployed without errors.

Also, check whether there is SrsReportNameAttribute in AssetBasisRdlContract class and whether it points to an existing report (it's AssetBasis.Report by default).

it seems when you created the Report menu item you have not specified the report design name in the property

    Please check.

    RE: SSRS error

    Hi,

Parameter _reportName cannot be null or empty. The [CLASSNAME].[METHODNAME]() reflection API could not create and return the SrsReportNameAttribute object

In this specific case it looks like an earlier full compile did not finish.

If you encounter this problem I would suggest that you first compile the class mentioned in the error message and see if this solves the problem.

    in Dynamics AX 2012:

    1. go to AOT (get Ctrl+D)

    2. in classes find CLASSNAME

    3.compile it (F7)

I had the same issue, I try all the proposed solutions without success.

I rebooted the server and after the reports works fine !

    RE: SSRS error

    Hi Debanjan

Open VS-> New Project -> Microsoft Dynamics Ax -> select Report Model and specify the project name .

then Left hand side Application tools is there it will show the AOT objects. From that you can able to pick the report to your project.

    RE: SSRS error

I get this error from time to time.  The way to resolve it is to compile that class "AssetBasisRdlContract".  However, often you will find that that error will go away but another *Contract class will show an error.  I've got this error for other types of classes, not just Contracts so I'll be generic in how I describe the solution.  Basically, whatever class is giving you the problem, find its parent class and do a 'Compile forward' on it.  This will loop thru all the classes that would be giving you an issue.  The errors will stop after this.
