How to delete fixed assets card added in history and re-enter it in cuurent date

Hello ..

I have facing a problem with one of fixed assets card ,, this card already entered on 31 Aug . 2021 and posted to GL and ran two month depreciated ( Sep.&Oct.) Now we need to delete that card due to some of card information was incorrect.. so how to delete the card and re-enter card on 31 Aug. 2021 and run normal routine to add cost of card and run depreciation process for two months on 31 Oct. 2021

    Hello Amr.

    To address this issue, you can test the following:

    1. Print the Fixed Assets Reconcile to GL Report for the Asset in question as you will need to back out anything that was pushed to the General Ledger.
      1. Financial >> Reports >> Fixed Assets >> Activity
    2. Once you know what was posted to the GL, you can either delete the book or delete the whole asset.
      1. To delete the book, open the Book Maintenance window.
        1. Select the Asset.
        2. Select the Book.
        3. Click Delete
        4. Re-assign the book with the correct information.
      2. To delete the Asset entirely, use the Delete Asset Utility.
        1. Financial >> Utilities >> Fixed Assets >> Delete
        2. Once the Asset is deleted, you can recreate the Asset and Book as needed.
      3. Lastly, you will need to back what pushed to the GL.
        1. You can do this with a manual JE or back the JE using the Correct button in the General Entry window.
