CRM 2011 – The import of solution failed with no error

Hello,

I am working with CRM 2011 On Premise.

I have a solution in our DEV environment which contains 2 entities and 3 Webresources.

When I try to import this solution in PREPROD environment, progress bar is loading, and I get the message “The import of solution : PatchQC3070 failed”

When I download the Log file and open it with Excel, the status column does not show any error:

What can we try to get successful import of the solution ?

Thanks for your help,

Paul

Hello, I found this message in logs : >Crm Exception: Message: Import failed, ErrorCode: -2147188706, InnerException: Microsoft.Crm.Tools.ImportExportPublish.ImportGenericException: Import failed ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot find the user 'GUERBET-GROUP\ReportingGroup {0e9c0c11-6dfd-4ade-bc34-86256534b546}', because it does not exist or you do not have permission.

    What should I do ?

    Hi,

It looks like patch solution, if so it will be only install if main solution will be already install in system. Please check that patch solution has diff behavior than original. check here -

    Hi

The log file from the import won't help you in these cases. What you want to do is enable CRM tracing and run the import again. When it fails, disable tracing and check the log files that were generated.

For 2011 OnPremise there's a handy tool called "CRMDiagTool" that helps you enable/disable the tracing and reach the log files.

If you don't already have it you can still get it from the archived codeplex page archive.codeplex.com (although I suspect you have to download the entire project archive since it's no longer an Active codeplex Project and thus there's no download links for releases).
