Hello All,
I want to export data into CSV and when anyone open that CSV ask for a password or open in encrypt data
how can it possible?
Text files don't have such a capability.
Regarding generic file encryption, please start by thinking about your requirements. For example, which platforms do you want to support? What if users download the data to a Mac or an Android phone? Or are you fine just with Windows?
I think the easiest solution might be using an encrypted ZIP archive.
By the way, which version of AX are you using?
There is no OOB feature to support this requirement. CSV file itself doesn't support password protection. If there is one 3rd tool support it, you have to call it after your application save download file.
Thanks Martin and Luke for the quick reply
My requirement only for windows i am exporting payment journal data to csv file and client want that if anyone open that data then csv file open with encrypted format
and i want that into d365 f&0
Does the suggested solution (using a password-protected ZIP archive) meet your requirements or not?
If not, can you please explain the conflicting requirements?
By the way, I moved this thread to the D365 Finance forum.
Hello Martin,
How can we use password-protected ZIP archive with x++ can you please give any idea
As far as I know, you would have to use a thrid-party library such as SharpZipLib.
I don't know how can we use that third party in D365 F&O if you explain or any other solution for the requirement
Can you explain your problem, please?
For example, maybe you don't know how to create an archive, or how to add a file, or how to set a password. Or maybe you don't know how to add a library, or how to use .NET Interop from X++. Or something else...
Understanding your actual problem will allow us to address the right thing.
If you're struggling with classes of the library, its documentation should help you.
My actual requirement is tha my exported csv file is not able to edit by anyone for that any option like save that exported file in different folder or ask for save location in D365 F&o
