Posting estimates on an Investment Project

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to post my estimates to a fixed asset in Dynamics 365. I fill in all the required fields, select my forecast model, my fixed asset number and book, and make sure that my completion percentage is 100.

However, when I try to post the estimate, AX acts as if it's processing my request but nothing happens. No warning, no error message, nothing. It just doesn't post my estimate.

Does anyone have ideas or clues what might be wrong ?

Cheers,

T.

    Hi Thibault,

I once posted something on that topic. Please see: dynamicsax-fico.com/.../construction-in-progress-project-module

Can you compare what is described there with your setup and process?

    Maybe something little is missing?!

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I believe that my set up is similar to yours. Is a Forecast (for the project) absolutely necessary ? Also what role does the date of the estimate actually play in this (because I saw you highlighted it in your post) ?

I also do believe something small is missing I just can't get my finger on what.

    Thanks !

    T.

    Hi T.,

Have you actually eliminated your estimate?

Because only the elimination will do the transfer to the fixed asset.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I can't eliminate because I can't post. It acts like it's processing my request but it doesn't do anything.

    Hi T.,

Have you tried reversing all the estimates and then to create the one with the 'set to complete to zero method' again?

Is this the first time you try to shift the costs of your project to a fixed asset and has it probably worked before?

Have you selected the fixed asset and the value model in the second tab of the estimate form?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
