Forum Subscription Alerts

When someone clicks "Subscribe" on a forum thread the "Forum Alert" entity is associated with the thread inside dynamics, where I can see the user is marked as a subscriber, however when a new post is added nothing happens.

Has anyone managed to get subscription alerts working with new forum posts, where a customer gets an email if a post is added to a forum thread they've subscribed to?

There are some random workflows for Send Email to subscribers or alerts and one for Forum Notifications, but neither do anything, or are linked to anything.

Any help would be much appreciated

    I had this issue also and just got to the bottom of this so hopefully this works for you too, although this is such an old post you may have resolved by now!

    I am using dynamics 365 v9 you need to make sure you have this setting ticked:

    Navigate to your Dynamics CRM -> Settings -> Administration -> System Settings -> Email tab -> Configure alerts section -> tick the checkbox for “information”.

    The process 'workflow' this uses is called 'ADX Forum Notification' if you need to edit the email that gets sent to the subscriber.

    Also if you are testing this you need to make the forum post from a user that is not yourself as subscribers will not get notification on their own posts.
