Add member to team CRM 2011

 In my test environment, I was attempting to add a Member to one of my Teams.  No matter which user I select I get the below error. 

"You cannot join one or more of the teams selected.  The membership of default teams cannot be modified."

This appears to only happen when I select a team that does not have the root business unit as the parent business unit.  Has anyone else encountered this error? And if so, how did you resolve this one?

I'm using CRM 2011 and Rollup 7

    Is the Team you are trying to add this member your default Business Unit Team? I believe a member can be assigned to only one default team at a time and if the user is in a different BU than you are then he/she is already  assigned to his default Team which might be why you are getting this error

    Yes, I was attempting to add members to the default teams.  So, both answers provided are correct.  I didn't realize I was attempting to use the default teams until you guys mentioned that.
