Configure Goal for single record and display it on record.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Everyone,

I Have a requirement to configure goal but I have to display the estimated, actual and target revenue on specific opportunity records.

Is there anyway to achieve it OOTB or any other.

Priority is to achieve it OOTB

Help would be appreciated.

    Hi Seshan,

I am going to make a suggestion based off quite a bit of assumptions:

Show a certain goal(s) current target, in-progress and actual totals on certain opportunities. What I am not certain of is the criteria to display the goal(s) and what the roll-up queries and metrics are for the goal(s) themselves.

In any case, I will try make a suggestion:

Place a lookup on the opportunity form that looks up to the goal entity. Based off this lookup, when it contains data, you can include quick view fields under it on the same section that show the target, in-progress and actual fields from the goal itself.

You can then include workflows or business rules to populate the goal lookup based off your own criteria. Using the same business rules, you can also choose to display the goal lookup field if it contains data, so that only certain opportunities that do not met the criteria to display the goal lookup field is then hidden from view.
