You don't have permission to use the Role Centre...

Hi,

I created a new Profile so that I could turn off all the items on the Business Central Home page that we don't want users to be shown.  I called it ENGINEER.

I then assigned this profile to a user.

However, when the user logs on, he gets:

You don't have permission to use the Role Centre 'ENGINEER'

I can't see where to assign a permission to use a role centre and have searched the Microsoft Docs, but couldn't find anything useful.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks!

Brian

No, the licenses are fine.  This is a permission problem. :-)

Have you tried giving the user super permissions to see if that worked ?

If so check if you have permissions in the source Cue table data, I think it is the 9xxx range

Thanks, the whole point is to restrict the users of this group to specific tasks.

I'll have a look in the Cue tables.  :-)

    Many thanks :-)

So!  I found out what controls this permission!

Going to Profiles (Roles) list using the search, I had a look at the profile ENGINEER that I had created, and the Role Centre ID box has a number in it (this is the role centre that the profile is based on, or think of it as the home page after login).  That is the page number that the user needs permission for, so I went to my Permission Set and added PAGE permission for that page number and the user can now log in successfully.

    :-)

Thanks for this. I ran into the same issue and was able to use the method you described to resolve their issue.
