Issues with printing from CRM

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 100

We have a site who are trying to print from a report in CRM however it can take anything up to 4 minutes for the print dialogue box to appear. The app also seems to be trying to authenticate to a DC every time the print button is pressed. Is this normal behaviour?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hi,

This is not a normal behavior, you should check if other web applications behave in a similar manner when priniting a page.
If so, this may be a network or domain related problem. If not, check if any customization was made in realtion to the CRM print operation.

    Hope this helps,

Does someone working at the local network where the CRM system is installed have the same issue. What is the normal time for other users to print. Do they also see a delay?

You need to work out what is the expected time to get a print response is

I ran a few tests yesterday. Users on the same network all get the slow response when trying to print and I logged into our main site where no one is having the issue with the users account and experienced the same problem

    Hi,

This is definitely not normal.  A couple items to check:

    a. is crm running as a 'trusted web site' in the browser

    b. do you have an antivirus running - try disabling and see if the issue is related.

CRM is running as a trusted site (it's in the local intranet sites) and I've tried disabling the AV but the issue is still the same. I've noticed that when I click print and go to task manager IE takes about 50% of the processor and just hangs. Has anyone seen this before?

Try the Internet Explorer reset options from tools, internet options, advanced tab, then reset.  I'm guessing that you have some plug-in in IE that is interfering.

I tried this and it had no effect. The problem seems to be the same from a number of different machines so I'm wondering if it is linked to the user account settings somehow

And for sure you have tried disabling anti virus?

Go to tools, internet options, programs, manage addons.  Check to see if there are any addons for the antivirus - mcafee, avg, etc.  If so, try disabling them.

I definitely disabled the AV. We are using McAfee on access scanner and it was not running while I attempted to print.

We've tried using the same user account on various machines, different versionsof IE and completely different locations but it's still the same issue which is what made me think that it could be related the the user account/set up

    Hi,

Can you try on a pc without mcfee.  I still think mcfee could be the culprit.  We are seeing more and more of similar symptoms being caused mcafee.
