Assign an existing contact to an existing customer

Hi:

I create a new contact person with type=person.

I create a new customer with contact field blank.

I try to find the new contact in the dropdown list of customer card but nothing.

I try to use the function of 'link with existing customers' to link the both, but crazy things happen, the customer name is changed to the contact name automatically.

we are simply want to use this function to record the contact information of the customers, not sure how to make it work? thank you.

    Try manually updating the company no. field. If the contact is already associated with the customer- in real life - why not create it as associated up front? You could do that via the customer card and it prepopulates some fields

    In the Current Master Fields, you specify which fields should prioritize in case of conflicting information in fields common to the contact and customer, vendor, or account. For example, if the salesperson code is different in the contact than the customer, you can decide, by selecting Contact, to use the information in the contact.

    Or you can try to use create as from Contact Card. Then go to modify the customer master data.
