Hello,
I had a thread on this but cannot find it anymore. So I have another question on installing GP 2010. First I installed SQL Express 2008 R2. I then installed GP 2010. I was told that the install would create an ODBC connection which I would see when I view them through the control panel. Nothing was added in there and I did not check the box to not create it. So I went ahead and tried to log into GP Utilities and said it could not.
My question is do I need to have an ODBC connection? If so, should I create it manually then? And what should the name be? I've tried searching and cannot find an answer on this.
Thanks,
Warren

Check the following reference on how to create an ODBC connection to Dynamics GP;
I must have entered the sql server name wrong because I launched SQL Express 2008 and logged in. I saved the instance name and then re-installed GP 2010 using it to make sure I entered it right this time. Then ran utilities and I got in. It is setting everything up now.
I want to learn with this how to write my own integration software using eConnect. I am a software developer and have worked for a couple companies writing apps to convert the data to be compatible with the integration manager. But I am going to learn more and go beyond doing just that.
Thanks!!
YOu are most likely on a 64 bit computer. YOu need to run the 32 bit ODBC administrator to see the Dynamics GP 2010 DSN that was created. YOu will find this in C:\Windows\SYSWOW64 folder and it is called odbc32ad.exe
