    Hi ,

Yes, D365FO can be customized using Visual studio environment. When you deploy D365fo, the development environment comes with a preset visual studio with FO objects. You can extends existing objects and create new ones in your development environment. The programming language used is X++.

Here is an introduction to development in D365fo.

    Hi,

Yes you can customize D365FO. By to use the Power Platform objects,  now it is even easier. It is like low code- no code.

Rather than that,  You can use X++ in VS.

    Hi,

It depends what you are referring on customization here. If you would like to automate some workflow (non FO workflow) on power automate, such as expense approval and etc. You can do it with power automate/business event.

However, if you would like to customize the solution to fill the gap of the requirement, you would need to have visual studio development VM with Dynamics SDK (cloud hosted VM (easier and better) or VHD).

For integration of D365 FO and D365 Sales/CE, there is an out of the box dual write, not always the best but it depends on your business scenario, you could build something custom integration as well of course.

    Dual Write: docs.microsoft.com/.../dual-write-overview

    Integration: docs.microsoft.com/.../integration-overview

You would need to consider licensing as well such as Dynamics FO license will give you premium connector on PA, Dataverse with dynamics apps and etc.
