How to automatically cleanup (delete) ended batch jobs

Hi all,

How do i set up an automatic clean up batch job to delete batch jobs that have ended (i.e. ad-hoc one off jobs that run once then end, not recurring jobs that have a history).

I tried the custom clean up batch job (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/sysadmin/batch-history-cleanup) but as it suggests, it only cleans up the history and not individual jobs thenselves, even though the custom job has a filter for /ended/ (e.g. jobs that only run once and therefore have no history).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Ash,

You can consider designing a custom solution via x++ to delete these jobs.

Hi,
When the batch job is configured to run only once, that batch job will be shown in the grid on the ‘Batch jobs’ form, the status of the batch job is set to ended, you can filter this status, and select the one you want to delete and click the delete button to delete. The system does not have an OOB function to automatically delete these jobs, you need to customize it.
