Mobile App Relevance Search: Global and Personal Facets

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

Version: 9.2
Dynamics mobile app

We perform a mobile search for Accounts by name and then we filter further by facets.

One really helpful facet would be the Address 1 City field.

How can I add this field as global facet for the accounts entity?

We already have this field as searchable by being included in the Account Quick Find view:
https://community.dynamics.com/365/f/dynamics-365-general-forum/373526/fields-missing-from-relevance-search-facets-and-filters

We also currently have the following facets set up in Personalization Settings > General tab > Facets and Filters button:

Unfortunately, it looks like we can only select 4. That's fine, but I don't see any other Available Fields here.

Thank you,
Tony

RE: Mobile App Relevance Search: Global and Personal Facets

    Hi Tony,

You can use the Quick Find view to define which fields appear as facets when users search by using Relevance Search. All View Columns with data types other than Single Line of Text and Multiple Lines of Text are marked as facetable and filterable in the index. By default, the first four facetable fields in the Quick Find view for the selected entity are displayed as facets when users search by using Relevance Search. At any time, you can only have four fields selected as facets.

    1. Go to Settings > Customizations.

    2. Select Customize the System.

    3. Under Components, expand Entities, and then expand the entity you want.

    4. In the navigation tree, click View. In the Type column, double-click Quick Find View. The following illustration shows the Quick Find view for the Account entity.

    5. Select Add Find Columns. In the dialog box, select the fields you want to add to the search index. When done, select OK. In the following illustration, you see the Account entity fields added to the Relevance Search index.

    6. Repeat the steps for the View Columns.

    7. Select Publish All Customizations for your changes to take effect.
