User Name has (#) after their Full Name

I'm curious as to why I have three users in my organization with a # sign after their Full Name. Everything where their User is selected shows this. I'm referring to the hashtag sign aka pound sign. (#). I can find nothing online to explain this. I've checked their user account in the Office 365 admin center and there's no pound sign shown anywhere there. Anyone?

I had the same issue and found that the firstname or last name is blank in Office 365 admin.

As Ravi Kashyap said, it actually occurred because you didn't fill the first name or the last name on Office 365 admin center :)
