Location Full when posting Arrival Journal

Hi all,

We are trying to post an arrival journal for an RMA.  It does validate correctly, but get an error when posting stating that the location is full.  I go to the actual location and it was negative available for space so I increase it to a very high number and still get the same error.  See screenshot...

I then went to each of the items in the Arrival diary and checked the dimensions.  One item had a very high volume so I set it to the correct.  Still will not post and get the same Location is full error.  

This happened only once before and doing this fixed it.  This time, it simply will not post.  

Also,

Could this be a more serious issue?  If you notice, it says there is a unusually high volume and weight on this location but when I look at on-hand inventory, there is only one item in there.  It is as if it is not resetting properly.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

    On the 'General' tab of the Item arrival journal lines, what do you have ticked in the 'Mode of handling' area?

    Hi. I always thought that the only thing the system checked when it was posting an Arrival journal was the number of pallets in the location (and the maximum number of pallets allowed), but from your screenshot you have 9999 as the maximum number of pallets in that location and you don't have that number of pallets in on-hand inventory. So I tried to reproduce your error in the standard demo hyper-v image and created an Arrival journal from an RMA and tried to post 3 pallets into the same location (that has maximum of 1 pallet) and I saw:

    So the first thing is that my journal posted - so these messages weren't errors they were just warnings. And the second thing is that the Edit button lets you (or a developer) drill into the error message so that you can figure out the condition that triggered the error - and more specifically if you have any customisations in the validation.

    Like Guy I think you need to provide a bit more information.

    Oh, THAT 'location is full' message (thanks Tim!).

    Empty pallets count (and you can't see these from the On-hand inquiry). Check in the pallets form (Inventory management -> Setup -> Inventory equipment -> Pallets). Every pallet has a location - even empty one's. It's possible you have more than 9,978 empty pallets in whatever location you think AX is referring to.
