Hi, I've got a Remote Desktop environment (multiple terminal servers based on Windows Server 2012 R2) and the AX 2009 environment wit multiple AOS servers. The printers for the users has been mapped on the RDS terminal servers. The issue is that when a user logs in to the terminal server he can see the mapped printers correctly, when it opens AX and Printer Settings they are there as well for printing an invoice and receipts. But when a user enter his credentials within the AX application to make a sale then when an invoice document appears and he wants to print it for the client the list of the printers is different. No printers mapped on the RDS servers are visible. User can see only some test printers mapped on the AOS servers instead - cannot print an invoice. The question is could you tell how and where the printers should be mapped and configured to be visible within the AX 2009 application properly to allow users to print the invoices and receipts ? And is there a place in AX application when we can choose which printers to use - from RDS or AOS servers? Maybe there is some step by step manual of how to do that in AX RDS environment ?
Hi DynamicsAXUserPL,
I see that for some AOS server "Allow clients to connect to printers on this server" is checked, this means that you enable access to printers on those AOS(s), if you have printers connected to an AOS on which "Allow clients to connect to printers on this server" is unchecked, create a new configuration and check it (you can't modify the original one from the utility)
Also check "Connect to printers on the server" on your clients configuration utility (create new config) , you must enable printing in both AOS and client configuration files.
Best regards
Hi István Orosz ,
This is the Client configuration utility, I was referring to the Server configuration Utility.
The configuration utilities for server/client are almost the same in both versions.
Best regards
I've added screens from my AOS config on servers.
Settings on all AOS server (except 1 looks like on screen 1 and 2). On one - trace and troubleshoot AOS server - it looks like on Screen 3.
Server 1 - Config 1
Server 1 - Config 2
Server 2 - Config
Hi Andre,
It is an AX2009 env. so the client config will look like this:
Hi,
Can you check Microsoft Dynamics AX Server Configuration on your AOS, if "Allow clients to connect to printers on this server" is checked?
