Hello,

A bit of background. We recently deployed Dynamics 365 and upgraded our 2011 org into it. We were running ADFS on Server 2008 R2. When found out we could not do oAuth we moved ADFS to Server 2012 R2. The Mobile App and External Facing URL both work.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Version 1612 (8.2.1.176)

Opened a case with Microsoft and they claim its a bug and will be fixed next update. Hoping maybe someone on the community could advise a way to fix or a hotfix/workaround to make it work.

It basically appears App is using Windows Authentication instead of Forms based authentication as you can see in the screenshot below.

I am quite disappointed in Microsoft's response that it will be a month or more until fix is released.

No official statement of it. My case is 117082116217118 (if Microsoft is listening) and last correspondence I had is below.

I have received an update from our Dev team regarding the release of On prem version in which this issue is resolved. The release will be available in the Download Center by the end of the month. Once it released to the market I would drop you an email with link so that you can download and install it.

This was as of October 17th and I still haven't received any word.

I was told two months at the beginning of September for the same issue. I just sent a follow up on our ticket; will report back if I hear anything.

Yes I just realized 2.2 update was released but do not see anything in release notes about the form vs windows authentication issues. I am going to try to apply as soon as possible and see if makes difference. I also emailed back on my ticket to see if any kind of update available.

Hi, when you try to authenticate is it going to infinite loop of auth forms or show you the error message?

In second case, could you share the crm AsyncService log for given ActivityId?

No it does not do either. What is is doing is opening windows authentication form and then doesnt accept credentials.

No change after installing latest Update for CRM 2016/Dynamics 365 on premise. Notified Microsoft they advised they would get back to me.

Realized I didn't have screenshot so here it is.
