Hi,
has anyone found an easy and effective way to set up UK VAT in the current demo version of 'Dynamics 365 for Financials'? I can set the 'Tax Product Posting Group' on the item, the 'Tax Posting Setup' page is there and ready to calculate the rates and direct GL postings to different input and output VAT accounts, but I cannot find out how or where to set the 'Tax Business Posting Group' on the Customer record. D365 for Financials seems to be different to standard NAV in this area.
On the system I have access to the 'Invoicing' fast tab on the Customer Card shows fields for 'Tax Registration No', 'Tax Liable', 'Tax Area Code', 'Tax Identification Type' and 'Tax Exemption No'. These all look to be requirements for an area-based tax system (such as US or Canada). Is there a way to change the system so that it can be used to process UK VAT records? Is there a switch somewhere that changes the tax system between being item-based and area-based? I'm a newby to this so it may be I'm just missing something obvious. On the other hand it may not be possible with the current release of the test system.
But, nothing lost through asking!
Many thanks,
M
