When I access via browser, it tells me an error has occurred. Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft dynamics CRM community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft dynamics crm administrator.

I have tried connecting via IIS as well and it gives me the same error.

Please, kindly help me on what steps to take, because this error is generic....

    Hi Nizar,

    I'm having problems activating tracing.

I tried activating on windows powershell using the commands in the article you posted, but I am getting errors like:

    PS C:\Windows\system32> Set-CrmSetting $setting

Set-CrmSetting : The term 'Set-CrmSetting' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or

operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try

    again.

    + Set-CrmSetting $setting

    No matter,

Try to create manually these entries in Registry Base.

You should open Registry and go to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MSCRM

    Required registry entries

The following are the required registry entries. For more information about the location of these registry entries, see the "Registry entry locations" section.

    NameTypeData value
TraceEnabled DWORD A value of 0 or 1
    TraceDirectory String C:\CRMTrace
TraceRefresh DWORD A number between zero and 99

After that, you need to restart your webserver that hosts your CRM.

You can use iisreset command line in cmd.exe or you can do it from IIS manager.

    Hi Nizar,

I did exactly what you said.

It is still giving me the same error.

It is still giving me the same error. ?

It means that you cannot access yet to your CRM or it means that you cannot create Registry entries ?

If the answer is the first one:

It 's normal because, this manipulation is to activate Tracing.

So you can go to Trace Location "C:\CRMTrace\" and you should find trace files.

If you dont find trace files verify in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Trace\"

If you still dont find files restart another time your web server (using iisreset command).

If the answer is the second one:

That means that you don't have necessary previleges on your CRM server.

    Hi Nizar,

I have found the trace files in

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Trace\

There are bunch of texts in each file.

What do I do with them please?

You should analyse these files to find the reason of your issue.

    Hi,

If you had many files with a large file size. You should define as Error the TraceLevel registry entry to view only the CRM errors.

Delete all generated files and type iisrest command line in cdm.exe.

after that try to access to CRM and you will see that you had new log files with a low file size.
