So this is a strange issue.
I swapped out one of our shipping computers and since then it is not able to print labels correctly. the printer itself is a Zebra 2746e thermal printer, and the pc is windows 7 64-bit. the old pc was windows 7 32-bit.
We normally have the printer setup using just the generic text driver so when we print labels using our templates they print direct without the drivers trying to do anything. Since this change er have noticed that it like to suddenly add extra characters randomly.
for example a label for a power bar will print out 10 times correct, then 2 will print as power barf. then the rest print fine. Trying to use the actual printer drivers does resolve this issue and it prints accurately, but it prints very slow. 100 labels takes 30 mins to print rather then 5 mins. This is causing big delays through out an entire week.
Does anyone have any suggestions to either get it printing quicker using the driver, or to correct the extra characters while on the generic text driver?
thanks.

as this is a remote site i don't have a 32-bit computer out there for them to swap to for testing atm. I was not aware zebra had a universal driver, i will have to find and test that.

Can you move printer to a 32 bit PC on the network to test? That may be a quick resolution.
Zebra used to have a "Universal Driver" for all model printers that supports direct commands to the printer. Have you tried that driver?
