Alert email drill down not working

We access everything through Citrix. AX is set up to send alert emails with a hyperlink such that clicking on it will take the user to the relevant Purchase Order in AX.

For most of our users this hyperlink does nothing at all. We have set the drill down to point to the desired AX environment.

For one or two users the hyperlink does work.

We can't understand why this works for some but not others.

In this thread https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/164185 it is suggested that AX versions before 6.2.1000.7875 will not work for this. We have such an older version 6.2.1000.4051 but how does that explain the fact that it works for some users?

    Hi Angelov,

Do you have the AX installed locally on Citrix?

    Regards,

    Hi there,

Can you please explain that where did you install the AX? locally on the same space as citrix or it is installed somewhere else?

I have the same case, it works inside RDP connection but I am unable to make the call from citrix.

    Regards and thanks

We resolved our drill down link issues when our Citrix/network administrators fixed up the Microsoft Group Policies. Maybe get those checked first.

    Hello,

Thank you for the update. We are also working through Citrix, but for some reason the link does not work if a citrix session to AX is open... it results in opening a local IE session resulting in 'this page cannot be displayed' (url = http://xn--dynamics-cq3d/0?DrillDown_75824/”)

    HTML in e-mail template:

    <A href="”dynamics://%LinkToBusinessData%/”">

Output when opened from a machine (RDP) where AX is locally installed (this works):

    dynamics://0/?DrillDown_75824/

Any clue what could be wrong?

    Many thanks!

RE: Alert email drill down not working

An update for those interested, the hyperlink works for me but after leaving my Citrix session logged in over the weekend I found then that my hyperlink no longer took me to the PO but gave an error saying that the record no longer exists. I checked the drill down config and it was still correct. Setting it again made no difference. I logged in a second time onto the same and other Citrix servers and the hyperlink worked in those sessions. Suspecting that my open session had become "stale" I logged off (from all sessions), logged onto the same server and yes the hyperlink was working again. This seems to be a different issue to the one facing us where users are getting no response when clicking on the hyperlink as if it is not being recognised as a hyperlink.
