It is possible via a workflow to send out email notifications when new user is added to D365. So if a new user is added I get an email notification and can then go into Dynamics and complete user setup such as changing BU, applying security roles etc.
The short answer is yes, its possible.
Longer answer: you would need to setup you mailbox server and a mailbox for a sender. You might have more luck if you make a task for yourself and have a view of tasks on your login landing page (not sure if this would be very beneficial to you).
You could also do this in flow/power automate.
Sending the email is not the problem we just use generic No Reply mailboxes to send notifications - this issue is more around how to trigger the email send
You can do it via PowerAutomate Flow, Common Data Service create/update can pick up the push into System User. You may also need to trigger on update (status changes if you have people that get licences removed etc and when they become active again you need to check BU etc)
We use the create of System User via flow to set the users timezone when they are added to CRM (as we need its different to that on the Microsoft servers).
