CRM / SharePoint Integration and Document Types

We are using CRM 2015 Online, Rollup 1, along with Office 365 (inc. SharePoint).

We have used the SharePoint integration for some time, which allows documents to be stored against records in CRM. Clearly, the really site in a SharePoint library. 

Within the SharePoint library we have created document types, based on our own format documents templates (with logos, etc). This is relatively standard stuff. However, when viewed in CRM, these do not change and the standard options to create a new doc, ppt, xls or onenote still exist. They are definitely looking a the same library. 

Does anyone have any experience here so we can present our SharePoint document types within the docuemnt view of CRM? 

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    As it stands right now CRM will not allow you to add more than the traditional document type because it's extended with Office 365.

    From TechNet:

    Custom content types

    Can create new custom content types.

    Can’t create new custom content types.

    Previously created custom content types can still be viewed and edited but to create a new custom content type you’ll need to create it directly in SharePoint using Open SharePoint.
