Server to Server authentication SharePoint & Exchange online

Hi All,

I hope this has a simple yes/no answer.
I expect the answer is yes

Background:
I have CRM 2016 v8.2 on prem it uses Server to server (S2S) to authenticate with SharePoint & Exchange online.
In the same tenant as my SharePoint and Exchange I have a Sandbox instance of D365 CE v9.x.

Question:
Can I connect SharePoint and Exchange online to my D365 Sandbox online through S2S without breaking my CRM 2016 on-premise connection to SharePoint and Exchange?

PS:
I currently have a few CRM 2016 on prem deployments and several organizations on premise using S2S with Exchange and SharePoint online.

Thanks!

    Hi Justin,

Thank you for using the Dynamics communities.  Technically you should be able to connect your Online instance to Exchange and SP without issue.  Exchange should function as normal but only one Mailbox can be synced with Dynamics at a time.  With sharepoint, I would recommend creating a different SP Directory for the Online instance to sync.  Otherwise if you point the Online instance to the SP directory for OnPremise this could cause some issues.

    Thanks Brandon,

Yes, I will create a new document library in SharePoint to Sync CRM online with.

I agree synchronizing a mail box with more than one organization is a "no-no" and will lead to synchronization errors. :)

    Cheers,

    Justin

Justinp I know this ticket has been closed for a very long time. :) But we are at the moment fighting on one of our projects with setting up the server-to-server authentication for exchange online and sharepoint online with d365 onprem. Can you maybe elaborate a bit more about the way how you managed to integrate both systems in one crm-instance?

    Thanks for ur help!

    Regards,

    Alan

Brandon Sambat Sorry for tagging you. Do you maybe have some more informations about how to set up server side sync with sharepoint and exchange online for a d365 onpremise installation?

    THX!
