Production - Scrap Account

Hi

When posting an Error quantity on a 'Report as finished' journal, I need the value of the Error quantity to post to a specific scrap account.  In the Production control parameters, I select the scrap method as 'Scrap account' and selected a specific GL account as the Scrap account.

When Ending the order, I also select the Scrap method as 'Scrap account' and specified the Scrap GL account.

The Error quantity is not posting to that account or any other account.

How can I get the Error quantity to go into a specific Scrap account?

If you are using Standard cost for the finished good item, then it will never post to the Scrap main account.  All variance will post to some combination of Production lot size variance, Production price variance, Production quantity variance, or Production substitution variance.

    Thanks Brandon. That makes sense.

Am I able to set the variance accounts you mention above, as the SCRAP account? i.e. Will it affect any other processes?

That's a very common solution.  You can still use the Posting type to break out the variances within that single main account.

    No, nothing else is affected.
