Does anyone know of a way I can setup CRM2011 so users can view each others calendar or at least have one calendar we can schedule jobs to and share with everyone, maybe a calendar for a facility, I am looking for a calendar view similar to outlook not the Gannt style that is currently in the services area.

    RE: Shared Calendar

    Hi,

    Shared Calendar - AppJetty's Calendar 365
You can easily share your calendar or ask your team members to share their calendar with you. This enables you to manage all the day-to-day activities right from your calendar. This way you can enhance team productivity and manage your time more efficiently. Moreover, a shared calendar keep the communication transparent and eliminates the need for redundant emails.

    Create & Manage Multiple Activities
Manage all your activities including tasks, recurring appointments, phone calls, service and campaign activities, etc right from your Dynamics CRM calendar. No more managing multiple calendars and forgetting events, email follow-ups, etc. Create, edit and copy CRM activities as well as custom activities.

    RE: Shared Calendar

    Ashwin,

I have not come up with a solution that I could implement on my own. You can take a look at www.mscrm-addons. They have a group calendar that covers a nice set of options.

    RE: Shared Calendar

    Hi Ashwin,

Currently the plug-in that we use does not track the meeting request in CRM that is sent.  It sends it to the participant as an Outlook meeting request, not as an attachment to an Email.

    Hi Garabed,

I am also haveing the same requirement for my client. Did you got any solution for this? If Yes, could you please share with me....

    Hi  Gretchen,

Could you please suggest that, when you are sending meeting request through CRM, it is also track in CRM?

Meeting request goes an attachment or simple request as Outlook request?

Waiting your response as i am stuck?

    Regards.

    Ashwin

    Re: Shared Calendar

    Hi Garabed,

This is based on the Appointment activity.  So you have a checkbox on the Appointment that indicates to send a meeting request to the Required Attendees.  You can create the calendar as a resource, a contact, a team, or a queue in CRM and include that as part of the required attendees on the appointment.

As far as the plug-in, I am sorry that I am not a technical developer, but there is a certain format of a file that is created when a meeting request.  My understanding is the requirements for this file are readily available on the internet.  So, you just need to write a plugin that sends this file to required attendees when the box is checked.

    Hope this helps!!

    Re: Shared Calendar

Would it be possible for you to share a little more regarding the plugin to get the items over to Outlook? I have been trying to do this however so far been unsuccessful. The Group Calendar from MSCRM is great however I am trying to do what I myself.

    Re: Shared Calendar

    Hi Garabed,

How we have handled this requirement in the past is to use an Outlook shared calendar.  We then can send meeting requests from CRM (via a plugin) to that calendar and set that calendar to automatically accept meeting requests.  That is one solution to consider.
