Security roles conflict

Hi Guys, I made a customized privilege with the name 'XYZPrivilege' in which I add a menu item  of the form "ABC" in that privilege I access the specific control (by Needed permission property to manual) of the form and give grant access to ''No access". This privilege is added to the Role "XYZRole". The problem is that I haven't assign that role to User and User have the others role but still is unable to access that control. This problem is happening after the recent update of D365FO. If anyone has idea please let me know. Thanks.

    Hi Bilal,

As mentioned above, the NeededPermission is working contradictory to what you want to achieve. If you want to restrict a menu item as you mentioned above, then you can set the NeededPermission to none.

If you want to restrict access to the menu item with a role, you can create a privilege with 'Deny' permissions.

Because I want to create a security object (Role) when I assign that role to user, that control shouldn't be accessed.

    Hi Andre,

So it's clear that if the Needed permission = "Manual" no one can access it until the access is given via security objects.

If I set the Needed permission = "Read" or "Delete" what should happen.?

    Hi Bilal,

I'm not able to fully follow your current issue. I think you might mix up some things here. I think you have a control on the form where the NeededPermission property is set to Manual. In that case, no normal user, except the system administrator will have access until you grant access to the control via security objects.

So, the current behavior is intended. A privilege with 'No access' on the same control does not have any effect. The user who should get access would need a privilege added where permissions are granted for the control where the NeededPermission is set to manual.
