Configure Profile UI

Hi, 

I'd like to know how I can configure UI for a particular Profile, e.g. add/remove items in ribbon, without using configuration mode (and without asking the vendor). I'm a user and our NAV is hosted online. Thanks.

    You need to click on the Left Hand Corner the Blue Dropdown select Customize and Customize this Page and Customize. Check this link

    Thanks for your reply, but I don't mean configuring my own RTC. I mean configuring a profile and the configuration will be applied to users who are assigned the profile.

    The only way you can modify the profile which will apply the changes to all the users who are assigned to the profile is using configuration mode

    As mentioned it's hosted in the cloud so we can't use config mode ourselves. No any other way to do it without asking vendor?

    Hi Lowprofiler,

    Are you talking about user level personalization??

    If yes, that feature is added in NAV 2018 WebClient.

    Hi LowerProfile,

    By ''hosted online'', you probably mean that you're using the Web Client. 

    From the web client, you can't enter the ''configuration mode'', that would allow you to change the layout for everyone using the same profile.

    The web client allows you to change few things (add a field, move columns), but it still has limitations that you could find here (2016): msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168959(v=nav.90).aspx

    Ask your vendor to give you access to the Windows Client, so you could do your modification as needed.
