Attempting to dynamically assign a Marketing List to a repeated Campaign/Campaign Activity

Hello wise folk.

Is my request even possible?

A bit of background.

Our previous CRM was programmed to target a group of accounts, and send an email to each of those accounts on a regular (either monthly or quarterly) basis.

The powers that be want to leverage the Marketing List / Campaign functionality so that responses to these emails can be captured. 

In terms of automating scheduling and frequency repeating, those I believe I can achieve using a workflow or 2, but I am completely blind as to assigning the Marketing List to these without intervention.

Is it even possible to do so?
