Is there a way to make a primary and secondary approval in User Approval Set up in Navision 2018?

Hi Community,

I have always been setting up a single user approval in Navision at User Approval setup.

I would like to find out if there is anyway to set up a secondary User approval for the reason below:

1. In case the Primary Approval is off work, then Navision will pass the approval to the Secondary Approval.

2. In Navision there is the feature to allow a certain amount to be required to vet by user approval say 300, so the secondary approval can be say 500 and above.

Kindly advise.

Hi Josh,

In Nav you can define substitute approval on approval user setup page. Also need to define delegate time period on workflow.

So in case approval request raise and no action taken within define time period system automatically delegate the request and new request will raise for approval and it's go to substitute approver.

Manan is correct. You do however need report 1511 running on the job queue to perform the approval delegation.

Hi, approval delegation is a good way to handle this kind of thing.

You can set Delegate After in your wokflow responses.

Or you can use Workflow User Groups feature.

Josh,

Adding to the other replies...

For reason #1 - You will delegate the approval and set the Approval User they are out of office on the Approval User page.

For reason #2 - If you are trying to have amounts defines which User approves a document you will set that up in the Approval User Setup.
