D365 Data Management Export - Changing an existing Source Data Format

Posted on by 20

Hi,

Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this question, but we have an existing Export Data Project with a number of entities in it, pushing the data to a BYOD.  We would like to change the destination to a different BYOD.  Is it possible to do that without have to recreate the whole process?

Cheers

Ash

Thanks for the info, but I was overthinking it, all I needed to do was change the Source Name in the D365-SIT that did point to the Live-BYOD to the SIT-BYOD, instead of creating a new one.

    Hi,

Got it, for this scenario, you need to re-create Data Export Profile for SIT.

    You can read it here:

Replicate data to Azure SQL Database using Data Export Service - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

Ah sorry I don't think I made myself clear, we have a new SIT environment copied from live, with all the necessary export jobs.  I have created a new SIT BYOD and want to change the existing jobs in D365-SIT from the Live BYOD to the SIT BYOD.  I cant change the existing keys as they will still be used by the Live.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

You must have created an Azure Key Vault which holds the connection string to your database, based on following steps:

Replicate data to Azure SQL Database using Data Export Service - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

Now, you just need update the connection string in the Key Vault.

    You can update the key:

Update Key - Update Key (Azure Key Vault) | Microsoft Docs
